Start talking with your creditors and making arrangements. Most, even if they talk a tough game, are willing to work with you. If not, check out a credit counseling service local to you and see if they can help you speak to them. You actually have a right not to be harrassed by them at home or work, you can even request them in writing to stop calling you and they have to abide by it. However, if you can stay in contact and let them know the situation that makes you look good because you are at least making an attempt.
If you go back to school look at weekend college and see if you can find family willing to help you watch your children while you go or a neighbor. You'll have refund monies if you take loans that you can use to keep yourself afloat. Yes, it's loans but with student loans they are easy to work with.

Apply for foodstamps, WIC (If your children are under age 5), and medicaid as soon as possible. Being on unemployment should qualify you for emergency foodstamps.
Start calling local churches in your area, drag out that pesky yellow page book that is left at every house once a year lol, and start calling. Ask each one if they have a food shelf you can use, and what resources they offer to those in the community. Even if they don't have anything they might know who does and they are usually a bit more helpful then the local social workers. If your kids are in school contact the school social worker immeadiately and get help. They have lots of resources to the community and can help you out. Your children will then more then likely qualify for free or reduced breakfast and lunch. That helps you with two meals a day for them.
